Your glutes are made up of 3 different muscles, glute med, max, and min so it’s important to train them with a variety of different exercises.

Switching up how you do certain exercises will target your glutes differently.

By performing  side step ups compared to normal step ups you will better target your outer glute muscle.

Notice how in the right picture I’m starting on the side of the box. Then to start the rep I’m stepping across with my right foot onto the box. 

To target your glutes the best with step ups make sure you use a higher box. Having to step higher up will stretch your glutes out more, leading to better activation!

You can do these with just your body weight or by holding a dumbbell or kettlebell.🙌🏼
